
The Nigeria Democratic Congress will on Monday, May 25, 2026, inaugurate its Selection Committee following the completion of the party’s screening exercise for governorship, National Assembly, and State House of Assembly aspirants.
According to the party, the committee was constituted to strengthen transparency, internal democracy, and credible candidate selection ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The committee is mandated to review and assess reports submitted by both the National Screening Committee and the State Houses of Assembly Screening Committees. It will also make final decisions regarding the screening outcomes of all aspirants seeking to contest under the party’s platform.
The 21-member committee will be chaired by the NDC National Chairman, Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe.
The party said the initiative was put together in collaboration with the National Working Committee (NWC) as part of ongoing preparations for the next general elections, with the goal of presenting strong candidates across all elective positions.
The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to hold by 4:00 p.m. at the NDC National Secretariat and will be performed by the NDC National Leader, Henry Seriake Dickson.
